Arizona

My mom and I spent the weekend in Arizona with some good friends, Nicco & Cheryl. It was such a relaxing weekend. I loved drinking coffee while watching the sunrise every morning, then cooling down with margaritas in the sunset. We went up to Scotsdale for a few hours and shopped around, but spent most of the time soaking in the sun. It felt great after freezing in Utah for the last 5 months. It is getting me very excited for summer!!

Side Note: Last night after we returned, I watched this show called Jerseylicious. It was awesome.

Letters to the Editor

My mom was reading the Letters to the Editor section of The Park Record last week. She came across a really cool letter about the Olympics and of course the medalists, but the awesome part was the recognition the staff received. Here it is:

USSA is committed to excellence

Editor:

Over the last few week I've watched as the U.S. Olympic team has proved they are one of the best in the world. I've watched as many athletes have taken their place on the podium. While it is the athlete who stands there and receives the well-deserved medal, it is really the efforts and commitment of all of the athletes, coaches, directors, staff members and volunteers that make it all possible. The staff of USSA, U.S. Ski Team have taken pay cuts; they often have to travel and work away from home and family for many days at a time. These individuals are our neighbors and friends. They are committed to excellence and the results are clearly visible. If this were the Super Bowl and the home team won, there would be a parade and celebration. Park City is home for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team. I wonder how we show are appreciation for the efforts of this great team. Tonight on my way home I think I may just take and put a U.S. flag there along the entrance to the Center for Excellence, my small way to say thanks to all of the individuals who have worked and given so much to bring this great success home to the United States, Utah, and Park City.

Go To the Mattresses

I have seen (and own) all three Godfather movies. They are brilliant! Francis Ford Coppola really put himself on the map. Of course, none of this would be possible without the brilliant mind of Mario Puzo and his adaptation of The Godfather. I am reading The Godfather right now and I am blown away. I was always interested in the Family and everything involved, but now that I'm reading this book for the first time, I am amazed at everything that Puzo put into writing this book. The overall story is inspired, and all the details involving the life of a Mafioso are incredible.

The Sopranos is my all-time favorite television series. They did an amazing job at providing the information on the Mafia in the beginning so you understood everything that was going on. The Godfather does that, plus some. Of course, my previous knowledge didn't hurt.

I'm not quite finished, but my mind has been made up. A+ for The Godfather.

Top Gun

Has anyone else ever noticed how sweaty everyone is in Top Gun...all the time?

In other news, I'm glad the Olympics are over. It was a good two weeks, but happy it's done.
