No matter how close you are to a person, how much you know them, how much you trust them, they are still selfish assholes. I don't think there is a single person in this world who doesn't think about themselves first, with the exception of Ghandi.
I have this friend. She can be the coolest person in the world. I've known her for 14 years! We're best friends. But she is the flakiest person I know. Don't expect to keep plans with her because she'll just ditch you.
Then, there's this guy whom I love. Things were going great, we were really good friends. Then I tell him how I feel and he tells me he's dating a flight attendant. My heart shattered, my legs went numb, and now I'm watching him with someone else while tears well up in my eyes...oh, our friendship is now nonexistant.
I thought life was all about trust. Isn't that how we're supposed to get through it, by trusting the people around us to help us and be there for us? WRONG! Life is all about YOU! Life is about being selfish, learning how to get through things on your own, and taking everyone out while you're at it. Look at the most successful people in the world. They didn't get to be millioinaires and billionaires by being kind and helping others. They got to the top through narcissism.
Moral: Think of yourself and yourself only. Don't expect happiness. You'll never get anywhere in life by trusting others. You'll just end up lonely and depressed.
