The Year of Living Biblically

A friend of mine at work lent me a few books for my book-a-week resolution. I started reading The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible, by A.J. Jacobs. I consider myself a very religious person, but my God (no pun intended)! I can't imagine living my life like this, abiding by every single law or rule that's in The Bible.

Straight out of Leviticus, A.J. must avoid wearing clothes made of mixed fibers. He has a shatnez (mixed fiber) tester come to his house to test all of his clothes. He doesn't shave or trim his beard. He has a hard time with the 10th Commandment, Thou shalt not covet, so him and his wife visit an Amish community in Pennsylvania so he can get a better idea of living life without want.

I have only read the first month, but I can tell already that this is going to be a hilarious adventure!
